Heavy rains across a wide portion of SW Iowa and Eastern Nebraska have halted corn planting.  Many areas have received well over 3″ of rain over the past week.  Field conditions are saturated and will take several good drying days to be ready to plant again.  With more rain in the forecast for this weekend a lot of corn will have to wait to be planted until early May.  Once corn planting is complete operators will move quickly to planting soybeans.
