Yesterday, March 31, 2015, Realtors Land Institute (RLI) released their land value survey for March 2015.  In the past 6 month period from September 2014 to March 2015 Iowa Farm Land Values in all nine (9) reporting districts showed decreases in value.  The districts ranged from -4.6% in Southwest Iowa to -11.0% in Northeast Iowa.  The overall statewide decline for the September 2014 to March 2015 time period was -7.6% according to the RLI survey.  According to RLI the year over year, March 2014 to March 2015, statewide average decline in value was 11%.  Thien Farm Management, Inc. participated in the survey and provided our estimates for the Southwest Iowa district.  In general we concur with the RLI survey and have witnessed modest declines in farmland values over the past 6 months.  To view the full report visit
